The honest answer is a feeling. We wanted Auranest to feel like it belongs here — to Aotearoa, to the Waikato — rather than being a polished copy of a spa from somewhere else.

The head spa tradition has deep roots overseas, and we have nothing but respect for it. The slow ritual, the care for the scalp, the idea that this part of us deserves real attention — all of that we hold onto carefully. We're not reinventing the treatment. We're carrying it forward.

A native palette, a native calm
Step into Auranest and the references are ours. Blush peony and champagne gold. The deep greens of New Zealand native forest. And running through all of it, the koru — that unfurling silver-fern spiral the whole brand is built around. We chose it deliberately: the koru is the shape of something opening slowly, the same shape as a long, slow breath. It's the feeling we want every guest to leave with.
The room itself is dark on purpose. Not dim and clinical, but genuinely low-lit — the kind of dark you can actually rest in, with a single warm light and the quiet hum of water. So much of modern life is brightly lit and switched on. We wanted somewhere that gives your eyes, and your nervous system, a place to land.
Slow, and unmistakably so
If there's one word that sets us apart, it's slow. No busy hands, no rushing through the steps to hit a quota. Our signature ritual takes a full 60 minutes, and it uses every one of them. Warm water moves gently. Pressure is steady and unhurried. The whole experience is designed to bring your body down a gear, not to impress you with how much is happening.

We're not a franchise and we're not a chain. Auranest is a local sanctuary, in Chartwell, made for the people of Hamilton and the wider Waikato.
